At Sixtyone, we use hat colors to celebrate the changes we make and the knowledge we gain as we move through the stages of our golf development. So when it comes to playing golf and being a golfer: What color is your hat?
White Hats (Newbies)

Characteristics: White hat golfers might not know a lot about golf, but they’re trying to learn. Effort is all that matters at this level. The more you work the better you get.
Khaki Hats (Players)

Characteristics: Khaki hat golfers are at the first level of understanding. They understand the importance of safety. They understand the Academy Code and their responsibility as golfers. And, they understand the difference between the purpose and the goal while they’re playing golf.
Gray Hats (Vets)

Characteristics: Gray Hats are in the second stage of comprehension and understanding. They know the code and apply it at the course, at home, wherever they are. They also know golf, its vocabulary, customs, and even the rules—at least the important ones.
Blue Hats (Official)

Characteristics: The Blues are complete and independent. They know how to play. They have the skills to play. And every time they get a chance to play, they and everyone around them have a good time.
