I am a golfer.
As a golfer, I understand that swinging a golf club and hitting a golf ball can be dangerous to me and to people around me, and I must be safe at all times.
As a golfer, I understand that golf is a game of honor. I do not need referees or umpires to watch over me. If I break a rule, I am expected to penalize myself.
As a golfer, I understand how to separate the purpose from the goal. The purpose is to always have fun. The goal is to do my best.
As a golfer, I understand that my fun or when it’s not fun I must not ruin fun for others.
As a golfer, I understand that I will make mistakes. Nothing comes easy. I have to do the work in order to improve.
And, as a golfer, I know that I do not have to be perfect; I just have to be better today than I was yesterday.
