Sunday Recap: April 18, Strategy

Let's talk about the difference between purpose, goals, objectives, strategy, and tactics.

This weeks focus was on strategy and managing obstacles.

Do you know the difference between goals, objectives, strategy, and tactics? What are some of your goals? What tactics do you use? Do you monitor your objectives?

Goals: Dreams written down with a plan and a date is a goal. They are where and what you want.

Objective: Specific and measurable milestones that must be reach to get to your goals. They are the steps along the way.

Purpose: Why do you want to reach your goal?

Strategy: A plan of action. A design for how you will reach your objectives.

Tactics: Specific action steps that complete your strategy, lead you to the objectives, that help you reach your goals, and satisfy your purpose.

Activities

We’re going to play team golf charades). Here’s some charades help in case you need it. Or you can use you own resources to come up with terms.

Here’s how to play:

  1. The game is to explain a golf term without using it.
  2. The team on the tee box selects par (based on how hard the term is).
  3. If the opposing team guesses it on the first explanation, you get a hole-in-one.
  4. Each additional clue is a stroke.
  5. Your score is based on the par you set.
  6. At the end of the game we’ll see which team is under par.
