An important lesson from Eeyore

"A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all of the difference." —Eeyore

This is the end of the first week of September. Like the first week of January, the first week of February and the first week of all the other months this year; this is the week we focus on self-awareness. Self-awareness is simply paying attention to how what we say, do, think and feel affects ourselves and others. We think about it. We consider it.

According to Eeyore, consideration makes all the difference. But Eeyore is always pessimistic. Eeyore is always gloomy and sad.

Why?

Eeyore lacks complete self-awareness. Eeyore has consideration for others, but rarely has consideration for himself. That makes a difference too.

Consideration is the fourth section of our code. As Sixtyone golfers, we understand that it is important to always consider others. It is fundamental to what we do. But unlike Eeyore, we also know that if we have to consider ourselves too. We have to continuously be thoughtful about us. If you don’t, it is tough to always have fun at the golf course. The course can become pessimistic and gloomy like Eeyore.

Don’t be an Eeyore.

Big question/s

  1. What are some things that can make you an Eeyore at the golf course?
  2. What are some other things that can make you an Eeyore?
