Who do you have in your circle?

An important part of any effective strategy is to figure out who can help you reach your goals.

This is strategy week. Strategy is really just a plan you create to reach a goal. Tactics are the steps and actions you take to complete the plan. One of those steps is to figure out who can help you reach your goal. An important step to reach any goal is to decide who you put into your circle. The people you surround yourself with decide your future.

How could that be?

The people you are with the most are the biggest influence on your behavior. It is said that you are the average of the five people you spend your time with the most. That is because who you are with shape what you think, say, do and become. They influence your habits.

As Sixtyone golfers, we know that we do not control our futures. We control our habits and our habits control our futures. So if the people we spend our time with influence our habits, then a good strategy, a good plan, is to pay attention to who they are.

Big question/s

  1. Think of the five people (outside of your family) you spend the most time with and write down (for your eyes only) their names on a list.
  2. Jot down in your journal a list of your goals and how the five people you spend time with the most help you reach them.
