The purpose is to have fun

As a golfer, I understand how to separate the purpose from the goal. The purpose is to have fun. The goal is to be my best.

Golf is hard. People who practice for hours and hours every day still make bad swings. What is worse. Sometimes even good swings get bad results.

In order to keep the purpose separate from the goal at the golf course, you have to learn to laugh at the mistakes you make. You are definitely going to make a few. As a matter of fact, as we are learning to play golf we make more mistake than anything else.

Look at these swings. Do you see any mistakes?

Now when it comes to having fun, the people shooting these videos are obviously enjoying themselves. But what about the people making the swings? Most of them are going to need to work hard to have fun at the golf course.

How hard do you work?

Are you good at keeping the purpose and the goal separate?

Big question/s

  1. What are some things you do to separate the purpose from the goal when playing golf?
  2. What is something you think every first-time visitor to the golf course should know that would help them have fun?
