What is your standard?

Every golfer can be a good putter.

Golfer use one club for 40% to 50% of their shots: the putter. A golfer’s putting ability is not affected by age, size or physical strength. Anyone can be a good putter. You just have to work at it.

How do you work on your putting?

What is your standard?

There are many ways to practice putting. You can play games with friends. Sevens or tic-tac-toe are fun ways to compete and improve your putting. You can also compete directly with yourself using putting drills. Around-the-world is a good one. The 3-ball and 5-ball drills are also simple ways to too measure your progress.

The point is that putting is the key to your golf score. There are many ways to practice putting. And, your putting improvement can easily be measured.

The only questions: How good do you want to be, what are you doing about it and does what you are doing meet your standards?

Only you know.

Big question/s

  1. The main Sixtyone standards are laid out in the Academy Code. Another Sixtyone standard is to do the difficult things while they are easy and the great big things when they are small. Explain how you use these standards at the golf course?
  2. Do you think that the golf course is the only place you can use these standards?
