Golf is a game. Games are supposed to be fun. Everybody should have a good time when they play. But there are rules and regulations that govern how you play and act at the golf course. Some of the rules are official and regulated by the USGA. Others are unofficial. They are established by the culture of golf.
Honesty is the fundamental rule of golf. Academy students begin to understand what integrity is and how it makes it impossible to cheat.
