Curriculum Outline

Translating golf into a language that is easy to understand.

Phase One: Golf Introduction

Expected Outcomes

The first thing the students learn is that hitting a golf ball is a lot of fun. Students also learn to feel comfortable in a golf environment and the importance of safety when playing golf.

They also are challenged to accept the Academy Code and to develop an understanding of why golf is different. They should be able to recognize that golf requires honor and integrity, and that their personal responsibility to play the right way makes it impossible to cheat.

Athletically, students should understand swing basics and how to move the ball toward a target. Most important, students should have a desire to continue developing into complete young golfers.
